Surge Protector / Joules / BTU?I had a Monster Power HT800 surge protector connected to my entertainment center. It's muggy outside so i thought it would be a good idea to plug in my air conditioner. The Joules rating is for the amount of energy in a surge or spike that it can absorb. It has nothing to do with the power handling capacity of the strip.
Outlet strips usually have a current or power rating that tells you how much power the devices plugged into it can have. But the strip in your link has no such rating, so I'd look for one that does have a rating. You probably want a 15 amp rating.

- My cell phone is international-capable, generally meaning it handles GSM. ( Huge series on international cell phones .) This means it’ll connect to international cell phone systems. Many new phones have it as a free, added feature. You still pay international rates, which can be pricey. Think about getting a SIM with a local number at your destination.
- A good money belt is essential. The nicer ones have a plastic lining so your passport and money don’t get sweaty.
